Jesus’ Gifts To Us – Part 1

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given…Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end…” –  Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV)

It’s that season again: the one where we find ourselves caught up in cleaning, decorating, preparing goodies, and purchasing gifts for our loved ones. As we do all of this, sometimes sadly, we lose sight of HIM, the one who inspired the season and won reconciliation with our Source for us, salvation for our souls, and everything needed for life and godliness.

Beloved, we all know that the precious gift of salvation is one of the main benefits won for us by our Kinsman-Redeemer, but did you know it doesn’t stop there? Here are some of the other benefits available to us through Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection:

“Through Him (Christ Jesus) we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ” – Romans 1:5-6 (NKJV). How wonderful is it to know we are called by The Master Himself. This saintly call enables and empowers us to call others to His Kingdom through our love and kindness. This call also demands that we live holy lives so that when our time on earth is over, we can live forever with Him in Paradise.

Galatians 4:7 (NKJV) informs us, “Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” What amazing news! An heir is a person who legally stands to inherit whatever belongs to his father. As heirs of God, we stand to inherit all of The Father’s physical and spiritual possessions. My heart sings with joy as I consider the significance of this fact. Beloved, love, joy, peace, good health, prosperity, the fruit of the Spirit, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, everything good and perfect is already prepared and waiting for us to accept!

Friends, if all of the Christmas gifts we could ever desire were to be wrapped up in one, they could never even come close to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is everything we need. So, as we complete our preparations for this joyous season, this time around, let’s give Him His rightful place, amen? Shalom to you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your only Begotten Son into this world to save us from our sins. As we celebrate Him this season, we pray that we will clean not only our homes and surroundings but also our hearts and minds. As we decorate and put up lights, may the light of Your love shine through us to brighten the lives of those who live in darkness. May Your salvation reach the lost so that we all will live with You forever. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
